The original Solway Dory Petrel, professionally made by them in 2002. It is owned and has been sailed by Jan Poskitt since then. Made from marine grade plywood with a 44sq ft bermudan sail. Originally painted green, it has been repainted white, with the addition of a pair of outriggers. It was the predecessor to the fibreglass Shearwater. It comes with built in side buoyancy tanks, a small bowtank under the foredeck, and a large rear tank with a hatch for the stowing of camping gear.It has adjustable seats for one or two people and comes with its own portage trolley.
