Main contributors to the content of this website:

  • Dave Stubbs – very experienced canoe sailor undertaking many challenging camping expeditions on Scottish west coast. Key partner in Solway Dory for many years. The combination of his deep understanding of how sailing boats work (derived from a degree in Physics), with persistence in problem-solving and simple but functional design, has been very significant in the development of the range of practical and effective sailing canoes and rigs now available in the UK. Main contributor to canoe and rig design pages and much of the website.
  • Keith Morris – very experienced sailor in a wide variety of craft. Founder member of the OCSG, from 1990. Professional outdoor activities instructor specialising in sailing and canoeing. Very experienced canoe sailor taking part in many expeditions / challenges in the UK and other parts of Europe. Significant contributor to OCSG procedures on safety, rescue and Competence Levels as well as many expedition accounts, videos and much of the website.
  • Dave Poskitt – very experienced canoe sailor undertaking many challenging camping expeditions on Scottish west coast. Key partner in Solway Dory for many years, jointly responsible for developing the range of practical and effective sailing canoes and rigs now available in the UK. Significant contributor to OCSG safety information, particularly boat design.
  • Steve Robinson – Professional outdoor activities instructor. Very experienced small boat sailor, especially sailing canoes – both monohull and trimaran. Significant contributor to OCSG procedures on sailing skills, safety, rescue and Competence Levels.
  • Gavin Millar – very experienced sailor in a wide variety of craft, particularly sailing canoes. Contributed towards the development of a Solway Dory Shearwater in which to circumnavigate Great Britain (persistently poor conditions and time constraints resulted in only partial success, sailing about 1000 miles – about half of the journey). Significant contributor to OCSG recommendations for expedition planning, preparation, safety and Competence Levels.
